Marbled Vase

Vase thrown with a marbling of white and brown stoneware clay, and a clear glaze. I centered a ball of white clay, stuck holes into it with my fingers, and filled those with brown clay. Then spun the wheel to blend the two clays together, and threw from there. This process is trickier because you can’t overwork the piece/clay or the marbling will end up getting muddied and you lose the effect.

Blue Gradient Hexagon Pattern Bowl

White stoneware bowl thrown on the wheel.

The gradient pattern I designed as a vector on the computer, then cut it out onto vinyl and applied it to the bisqued piece. Then hand painted underglaze to create the color gradient.
