Pokeball Bowl
A custom bowl I made for a friend. Thrown on the wheel with white stoneware, then sculpted details onto it. Read more about the process below.

The Process
The Good & The Bad
This piece didn't go as planned for me. It was another early on experiment in my ceramics career that I made for a friend. But I had to make it THREE times before it survived!
The first one cracked while drying (I believe was my own error in the throwing and building process). The second one exploded in the bisque fire! I think this happened because I didn't wait to let it dry enough. All part of the learning process for me.
But finally the third time was the charm. I underglazed the piece after it was bisque fired (since it didn't survive that previous time I didn't want to waste time on painting). Then I covered it in a Speedball glossy clear.
